Kenya 8 Days 7 Nights

 

Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu Game Reserve
Pick up from Nairobi Hotel at around 0700hrs and drive to Samburu Game Reserve to arrive in time for 
lunch. Afternoon game-viewing drive in the stark countryside which is an amazing sanctuary for Grevy 
Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk, Elephant, Leopard, Lion, and other plains game. 
Meals and overnight at Ashnil Samburu Camp or similar. Full Board


Day 2: Samburu Game Reserve
Depart for an early morning game-viewing drive returning for breakfast. The Samburu Game Reserve 
offers some of the finest game viewing opportunities. Rare animal species like the eland thrive and are in 
abundance in this region. Samburu is home to some fascinating wildlife, like the long necked gerenuk, 
which can reach a height of two metres by standing on its hind legs and elongating its neck. Mid-morning 
at leisure. Lunch is followed by another game –viewing drive returning for dinner and overnight at Ashnil 
Samburu Camp. Full Board


Day 3: Samburu to Ol Pejeta Sweetwaters Conservancy 
We will have breakfast and then go on a game drive as we exit the park and drive to the Mount Kenya 
region. Lunch will be at Sweetwater’s tented camp before we proceed on an afternoon game drive in 
Sweetwaters sanctuary. Sweetwaters is the only sanctuary for the rehabilitation of chimpanzees in Kenya. 
Two groups of these primates live in an environment as close to their natural habitat as possible. This is 
also a dedicated black rhino breeding area. Meals and overnight at Sweetwaters Tented Camp. Full Board


Day 4: Ol Pejeta Conservancy to Lake Nakuru 
After breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time for lunch at the lodge. Lake Nakuru 
is famous for its seasonal pink Flamingoes and other aquatic birds. As well as seeing many large game 
animals such as Zebras, and gazelles, this is one of our best chances of seeing rhinos. Lake Nakuru 
National Park was the first place in Kenya selected as a rhino reserve. Here is one of the few places 
where we can see Rothschild’s giraffes. Meals and overnight at the Flamingo Hill Tented Camp or similar.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha
Early morning game viewing drive. Have breakfast at our leisure before driving to Lake Naivasha. Boat 
rides can be organized by our guide within Lake Naivasha at a minimal cost payable directly. Meals and 
overnight will be at the Lake Naivasha Country Club or similar. Full Board


Day 6: Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara 
Drive via the Great Rift Valley to Masai Mara Game Reserve, arriving in time for lunch. After refreshing, 
we will take an introductory game drive. Spend the afternoon on a game drive, returning before dusk for 
dinner and our overnight stay at Osero Mara Camp or similar. Full Board


Day 7: Masai Mara Game Reserve 
Spend the full day exploring Masai Mara in search of the Big Five. Over 450 species of animals have been 
recorded here. We will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, 
warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, elephants, and many kinds of antelopes. It is in 
the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place: the great migration. 
This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti in search of water and 
pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna – lions, cheetahs, wild dogs, jackals, 
hyenas, and vultures. (Optional excursions available: hot air balloon or visit a Masai tribal 
village). Meals and overnight at Osero Mara Camp or similar. Full Board


Day 8: Masai Mara to Nairobi
Check out after breakfast. Depart the Masai Mara for Nairobi. Dinner at the famous Carnivore Restaurant 
and then transfer to the airport for our onward flight.
